I've Been to The Mountain Top
I’ve been to the mountaintop and I didn’t know how I would make it, but once I got there I realized that I climbed it all alone. Yes my family was there to push and encourage me by letting me know that I could do it and I did. But, it wasn’t without struggle or pain and knowing that I had to rely on a higher power, because the climb was not easy. But, I endured it! It was breathtaking and peaceful, satisfying and rewarding when I made it there. When I think about the experience, I remember the aroma of the fresh crisp air and the joy of accomplishing something great where I had gained even more personal respect for myself. I thank God for my mountains and my valleys and the ability to get through them both. I felt that there was not a problem in the world that was too hard for me to take on. After reaching the top of the mountain and recognizing how far I had come, I turned around and by faith began to trust the Lord because I knew that I could not take on the problems of the world by myself. And so, its the baby steps in my walk with God that I am most proud of during this time. I've had the opportunity to restore my faith and the pieces of myself and found spiritual courage that I did not even know was possible. I truly believe that God is the only one that can help when there's no one else and that being open to allow those that he puts in your life to help you is important. Although, I struggled at times like we all do I knew that coming down from the mountaintop and facing life through new eyes would be impossible without God. Everyday I wake up and get going, I realize that "I made it!"
